BEST
KEPT SECRETS
From time to time we notice that
certain fragrances aren't selling as well as others. Sometimes
we just discontinue that fragrance, but if it's a fragrance we
really love we'll often keep it in stock anyway.
But I still have to wonder sometimes
what it is about some fragrances that just don't appeal to our
customers. I don't think it's the fragrances themselves (especially
since you're ordering online & haven't smelled them), so it
must be either the fragrance name or the description - or maybe
both.
Whatever the reason, I thought
it might be nice to highlight some of the fragrances we carry
that I consider our "best kept secrets". If you're looking
for a terrific fragrance, we'd like to suggest that you consider
trying one of these.

Amaretto
Utopia - Not a classic amaretto, this unique scent is
hard to describe. Try a sample if you want to smell something
really different.
Arcadia
- A rich earthy blend -- totally unique -- with the perfect amount
of vanilla to make it nice & round & comfy. Plus it's
mostly essential oils (with the exception of the vanilla), which
is a nice bonus. Oh, and it wears like a dream. Just my opinion,
of course. ;)
Arctic
Raspberry - I think people are expecting this to have
minty notes, but it doesn't. It's one of the best fresh raspberry
scents I've ever smelled.
Bayberry
- It's clean, it's spicy, and it's not just for the holidays!
Blackberry
Musk - Perhaps it's just too difficult to imagine this
scent combination. And maybe people who like fruity scents don't
think they'll like the musk - and vice versa. Honestly, I don't
think this fragrance really smells like blackberries OR musk,
but rather an amazing fusion of the two. This is one of my favorite
perfume scents.
Cannellini
Ricci - It's not obvious from the name, but this is a
really smooth cinnamon blend.
Carrot
- It's earthy, green and very fresh.
Citrus
Blackberry - I'm honestly not sure why this doesn't get
more attention. It's bright, fruity and one of my absolute favorites.
Not only is it fun to wear, it also makes a phenomenal Scent
Sack and No-Wick
Candle.
Elements
of Bamboo - A fresh & unique scent that's another
personal favorite. Not too heavy, not too green.
Energy
- I think maybe people
are expecting this to be an in-your-face, tart scent. Maybe I
misnamed this wonderful fragrance -- it wouldn't be the first
time. If you like our best-selling "Lick Me All Over"
fragrance, you really should give Energy
a try. It's a tantalizing, sweet blend of juicy fruits.
Frankincense
& Myrrh - OK, I suppose people are expecting this
to be a very heavy & resin-y scent. In fact, we've thought
about adding another type of Frank & Myrrh for our customers
who are looking for just that. But this isn't the "traditional"
Frank & Myrrh blend -- this is more of a sweet, musky blend,
and it's very wearable.
Ginger
Milk - When I spent an entire week wearing this fragrance,
I had lots of people asking me what I was wearing and commenting
on how good I smelled. You should give it a try.
Honeybell
Orange - Who doesn't love a sweet & juicy fresh-squeezed
orange?
Magnolia
Marmalade - Again, maybe I goofed when I named this bright
fruity-floral blend. It's not too sweet, it's not an overpowering
floral - and it's very hard to describe. I just know that this
is one of my very favorites, and everyone who smells it says they
love it. Mmmm... What a delicious fusion of scents! If you like
Love
Spell (type), you'll probably like Magnolia Marmalade.
Mandarin
Martini - Now this one is a shocker, truly. I thought
this would be a lot more popular than it is -- it's one of my
favorite foryournose blends, and it appeals to both men &
women.
Raspberry
Zinger - One of my all-time favorites, hands down. The
lingering base notes are a scrumptious sweet coconut. *drool*
Red
Clover Tea - Even we thought this fragrance name might
be misleading, but we decided keep the original name anyway. The
result? One of the best, most wearable fragrances we offer --
with a cool name that doesn't help you imagine what it smells
like. This is one of my favorite perfumes to wear (and considering
all the fragrances I have to choose from, this ought to tell you
something).
Summer
Sunflowers - Sunny, fresh, clean & bright - a really
great scent. I haven't tried this as a perfume yet, but it makes
an excellent Scent
Sack and it's a definite winner as a Linen
& Room Spray!
Sweet
Cream - I am in love with this scent, and would smell
it non-stop if I could. It's like vanilla on steroids.
Tuberose
- I can only guess that this deliciously exotic floral is overlooked
because the name is deceiving and people think it will smell like
roses. I love this, and I'm not a particularly big fan of florals.
Velvet
Fusion - Is the name misleading? Maybe you're expecting
a rich, heavy scent or maybe you don't know WHAT to expect. I
don't know, but this often-overlooked, fresh scent is really a
good one. In fact, it's still one of Todd's favorites, so I wear
it quite often.
